The presidential campaign council of the decision All Progressive Congress (APC) has denied rumors of an alleged attack on President Muhammadu Buhari during his visit to Kano on Monday.
Mr. Buhari has visited the state at the invitation of the state governor, Umar Ganduje, to help commission some projects the state government is undertaking.
However, during the visit, the PDP through its national spokesperson, Debo Ologunagba, in a press statement on Friday, alleged that some criminals, allegedly sponsored by the APC, attacked Mr. Buhari.
The statement blamed Mr. Ganduje and APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, for being the mastermind of the alleged attack.
The statement noted that “the organized attack on the President’s personality is truly treasonous and sacrilegious to national sovereignty that must be condemned by all.”
APC PCC chides PDP, saying it is drowning the party
In a quick reaction to the PDP statement, the APC PCC noted that the alleged attack on the President in Kano was a product of the PDP spokesperson’s imagination.
The campaign council in a statement signed by its director of media and publicity, Bayo Onanuga, on Thursday called on Nigerians to “ignore this fake news from a party that has lost touch with reality and is suffering because of the violation of its own rules on the rotation of power.”
The statement noted that the PDP is a drowning party that is desperately circling any lie and attacking in all delusional directions in order to survive – but it will sink.

RE – PRESIDENT BUHARI’S ATTACK IN KANO
We are not surprised to read the imaginary attack on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria peddled by the Peoples Democratic Party because the party could not tell Nigerians of the collapsed Presidential Campaign.
This invented attack on President Muhammadu Buhari must have happened only in the fertile imagination of the PDP National Publicity Secretary, one Debo Ologunagba.
Nigerians should ignore this fake news from a party that has lost touch with reality and is suffering from its own rule breaking in the rotation of power.
As it has been masterminding fake news against the APC presidential candidate and trying in vain to cause disharmony in the APC family, we believe the party has also planned to embarrass President Buhari in Kano and then put the blame on the host Governor Ganduje and Tinubu.
This is because the PDP has changed from being a virulent critic of Buhari to strangely becoming a spokesperson for Buhari! This last time issued its own misinterpretation of Asiwa’s statement in Abeokuta as an attack on President Buhari.
It should be quite obvious to Nigerians that the knowledge of the impending defeat of the PDP in the coming presidential poll has pushed the party and its candidates into a frenzied hallucinatory mode of mindless, ridiculous, ludicrous litany of lies and fabrications against the APC and its candidates.
PDP is a party that is drowning by desperately clawing at any straw of lies and lashing out in all delusional directions to stay afloat – but it will sink.
We believe that Nigerians are not taken in by the antics of jejune.
The PDP is currently running the most unethical, pernicious and inelegant, violent, obtrusive and national campaign in the history of elections in Nigeria.
The other day it was the PDP candidate Atiku who, out of frustration, publicly stated that the north should not vote for anyone outside the region. This is the same trend as the PDP campaign since then.
That should be a sign of defeat, and readiness to sacrifice the unity of this country in exchange for uncontrollable ambitions.
Nigerians are wiser and will not allow the centrifugal force of PDP to destroy our country. All men and women of good conscience should wake up and use their voices to send PDP and its band of desperados to the dustbin of history where they rightfully belong.
Contrary to PDP fabrications, President Buhari was well received in Kano State today by the good people and the state government where he presented eight high impact projects including an overhead bridge with underpass and a cancer centre.
On Sunday, we alerted the nation to a plot by the PDP to orchestrate and execute many evil plans to defame, ridicule and delegitimize President Muhammadu Buhari and our presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Well-meaning Nigerians will now see that we did not raise false alarms in the statement we issued on January 29, 2023, where we described the evil cabal of the PDP and its operatives.
Only the evil mind of the PDP can conceive of an attack on the President of Nigeria.
It is not impossible that the PDP through its paid agents will organize criminals to organize attacks. But we are confident that the security agencies can handle the planned attack on the President and anyone caught in the unholy plot now or in the future will be held accountable.
We call on the security agencies especially the Police and the Department of State Services to immediately arrest the PDP National Publicity Secretary for interrogation over this imaginary attack.
