Total transformation! The audience has watched 1000-lb. sister star Tammy Slaton dealt with major health issues for years, and now she’s enjoying herself as she manages to lose weight.
Since 2020 the premiere of 1000-lb. sisterTammy and her sister Amy HaltermanFan (née Slaton) has tuned in to TLC to watch the Kentucky native battle the scale for the life she wants. When Amy decided to lose weight in order to have children – she is now a mother of two sons with her husband. Michael Halterman – Tammy wants to live a healthier lifestyle so she doesn’t sleep because of her weight.
Tammy had many health crises over the years as her weight and partying lifestyle grew out of control. In November 2021, the reality star was put on life support after suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning. Miraculously, Tammy, who also had a tracheostomy during the ordeal, survived – and thrived.
In the season 3 finale, which airs in January 2022, Tammy’s sister, Chris Combs, revealed that he has lost 115 lbs while in a rehab facility in Ohio, where he has been released from the hospital. For her part, Tammy uploaded a video via TikTok the following month in which she teased her significant weight loss.
“I’d love to give you a weight update, but you’ll have to wait until season 4 comes out. Sorry!” the TLC personality told fans at the time, adding, “Just know I’m staying on track and things are looking up!”
Nine months later, Tammy tied the knot Caleb Willingham – people who meet in rehab facilities. Caleb proposed to her that October in the parking lot of the treatment center, and the two wed at the location with a small celebration with family and friends.
In the length before it was filmed for season 4 premiere of 1000-lb. sisterwhich aired in January 2023, Tammy reached a low point, which inspired her to seek help.
“Two months ago, I decided to go back to rehab. I weighed the most I’ve ever weighed,” he explained in his confessional, which shows him walking to the scales and learning that he weighs 717 lbs. “I just don’t feel good,” she cried.
In real time, Tammy looks happier than ever showing off her significant weight loss via TikTok. Although she announced in a January 2023 video that she “can’t” discuss everything about “my hair, my weight, my clothes, my marriage” because she’s “still under contract” with TLC, she encouraged fans to listen. season 4 premiere to follow her journey.
