Trump Scolds Indiana Lawmakers For Defying His Redistricting Push

President Donald Trump slammed Gov. Mike Braun and two state senators after Indiana declined to move forward with the redistricting plan he sought.

“Very disappointed in Indiana State Senate Republicans, led by RINO [Republican-In-Name-Only] Senators Rod Bray and Greg Goode, for not wanting to redistrict their State, allowing the United States Congress to perhaps gain two more Republican seats,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Sunday.

“The Democrats have done redistricting for years, often illegally, and all other appropriate Republican States have done it,” Trump continued. “Because of these two politically correct type ‘gentlemen,’ and a few others, they could be depriving Republicans of a Majority in the House, A VERY BIG DEAL!”

Trump also blasted Gov. Braun, whom he described as “a friend of mine,” for “not working the way he should to get the necessary Votes.” He claimed that Braun “wouldn’t be Governor without me (Not even close!).”

Reps for Braun, Goode and Bray didn’t immediately respond to HuffPost’s requests for comment.

Trump’s post was published after Braun announced Friday that his chamber would not meet in December to vote on redistricting because there wasn’t enough support to pursue such efforts.

Braun’s announcement followed months of pressure from the White House to make Indiana the next Republican-led state to put forth new congressional maps that would favor GOP candidates in the 2026 elections.

Trump wrapped up his post by issuing a warning to Republicans in Indiana who oppose redistricting.

“Senators Bray, Goode, and the others to be released to the public later this afternoon, should DO THEIR JOB, AND DO IT NOW! If not, let’s get them out of office, ASAP.”
