Tariq Lamptey optimistic about Ghana’s future after World Cup experience

Otto Addo’s side managed just one win against South Korea, with defeats against Portugal and Uruguay locking them out.

Lamptey, who transferred his citizenship from England to Ghana and played for the Black Stars in Qatar, believes the national team will build on his experience from the World Cup.

Playing at the highest level will only make us stronger as a group, more experiences like this, will improve us together,” he told Citi Sports.

“It puts us in a good place for the future. The boys played well and obviously we would love to do well for us, the fans and everyone involved, but we will use the experience to continue to build as a team .

“We will work together and we will continue to believe in each other and hopefully it will be a good place for the future.”

Lamptey has returned to club Brighton and Hove Albion and started last week’s 4-2 defeat by Arsenal.
