MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine lawn bowls team joined the medal-winning Filipino athletes after bringing home three gold and two bronze medals to finish second in the 14th Asian Bowls Championship held in Ipoh, Malaysia.
Rodel Labayo, the 2019 Asian Games gold medalist, and Elmer Abatayo won the men’s pair, while Marisa Baronda and Rosita Bradborn won the women’s team. and Hommer’s Market.
Baronda added a bronze medal in the women’s singles while the quartet of Mercado, Abatayo, Lising and Carreon mustered the courage they needed to place third in the men’s foursome.
With the medal performance, Team Philippines won one silver and two bronze in the previous Asian championships in 2018 China.
