
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has forecast very high fire danger conditions in ZF Mgcawu district, Namakwa district and Kareeberg local municipality in the Northern Cape as well as Cederberg and Drakenstein municipalities in the Western Cape.
The weather service also warned of hot and humid weather that could cause unpleasant conditions in the Little Karoo, Nama Khoi, the Western Cape’s Drakenstein municipality and the southwestern Namakwa district of the Northern Cape.

Monday’s weather forecast
Gauteng: Partly cloudy and warm with showers and thunderstorms. Expected UVB sunburn index: Extreme.
east: Morning fog patches over the Highveld and along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm but hot in places in the Lowveld. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected in the south-west Highveld from the afternoon.
Limpopo: Cloudy in the center and along the escarpment in the morning with mist, otherwise cloudy and warm with isolated light rain in the center and west. It will be hot in the Lowveld.
Northwest: Partly cloudy and warm with showers and thunderstorms.
Free State: Partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thunderstorms, but isolated to the north and west.
Northern Cape: Very hot in the north-west, partly cloudy and warm to hot with rain and thunder, except in the extreme north-east, but scattered in the extreme south-east. It will do well in the extreme west. Winds along the coast will be light and variable at first, becoming moderate from the north to the northwest, but from the west to the southwest from the afternoon.
Western Cape: Morning fog on the coast, used to be partly cloudy and warm, but very hot through the interior. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected in the Central Karoo from the afternoon. Winds along the coast will be moderate to fresh from the southeast, but strong on the southwest coast. Expected UVB sunburn index: Extreme
Western Half of the Eastern Cape: Cloudy with fog in places in the southeast at first, it used to be partly cloudy and warm to heat with isolated rain and thundershows through the northern and central interior, but scattered in the extreme north. Winds along the coast will be light to moderate from the east, becoming fresh to strong in the morning.
Eastern Half of the Eastern Cape: Cloudy with fog in places south of the escarpment at first, used well and warm, becoming partly cloudy with thundershows isolated in the northern and central interior, but scattered in the extreme north. Winds along the coast will be light to moderate from the northeast, becoming fresh to strong from the afternoon.
