The world of journalism lost a legend this week.
Barbara Walters died at the age of 93. According to TMZ, the trailblazing news anchor died at his home in New York City on Friday. He rep Cindy Berger said in a statement to people:
“Barbara Walters died peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. She lived a great life. She lived a life without regrets. She was a trailblazer not only for women journalists, but for all women.
Aggravate. Since the news of Barbara’s death spread, many people have taken to social media to remember her, including some of her former co-hosts. The View. Meghan McCain wrote:
“Barbara Walters has always been known as a trail blazer. Her provocative questions and welcoming attitude made her a household name and a leader in American journalism. She made The View something I will always appreciate. Rest in peace you will forever be an icon.”

Debbie Matenopoulos show a throwback picture with Barbara in it Instagram Storieswrite:

Lisa Ling then revealed:
“You paved the way for all of us, Barbara. What an honor to know you and to have been the beneficiary of your titanic spirit and wisdom.
Rosie O’Donnell shared a video on Instagram and recalled some good memories with his former colleagues, adding:
“Even at 93, who won’t take that, his long, eventful, and legendary life has been… I hope he rests in peace, and everyone remembers what obstacles he broke for women. He was right, he was the first, and will be remembered.
Meanwhile, Oprah Winfrey praised the news anchor for paving the way for her and many other women in the industry,
“Without Barbara Walters there would be no me – or any other woman you see on the evening, morning, and daily news. She is truly a Trailblazer. I did my first television audition with her in my heart all the time. Thank you for being a role model powerful and beautiful. Thank you for knowing him. Thank you for following his light.”
