New Juaben South MP Supports Constituents With Free Shopping, Health Checkups

The Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry and Member of Parliament for New Juaben South in the Eastern region, Michael Okyere Baafi has supported his constituents with food items, free health checks, and free transport.

The move is the first of its kind in Koforidua, the capital of the Eastern Region as part of efforts to mitigate the impact of the current economic hardship, especially during the festive season of Christmas.

Micheal Okyere Baafi successfully distributed food such as rice, yams, plantains, vegetables, poultry, and clothes, among others.

Beneficiaries are also given free health check-ups and free medicines.

Before providing foodstuffs to his constituents, the MP had earlier provided buses at all points in the Constituency to transport passengers from Koforidua town and neighboring communities free of charge without payment of transport charges before, during and after the Christmas Celebration.

He explained that the motive is to support the elderly in the Constituency, adding that it is the responsibility of every good citizen to support the less privileged in the society.

The Deputy Minister of Trade noted that the new economic challenges facing the country are causing difficulties for the people, so it is important for him as a member of parliament to intervene for the elderly in the Constituency.

Some of the beneficiaries after receiving the items were overwhelmed by MP’s good attitude, and praised him.
