Gretchen Rossi won’t be featured on The Real Housewives of Orange County season 20. And according to a new report, her latest Bravo exit had nothing to do with the social media posts she was allegedly caught “liking” amid season 19.
As Gretchen, 47, spoke out on Instagram with a telling post about “having it all,” an insider revealed the real reason she was let go from the reality series after appearing as a “friend” last year.
“She said she was in the hospital, then said she wasn’t … and that’s just one example,” an insider told Radar Online on January 28. “[Gretchen] got caught lying left and right a lot during this season.”
As RHOC fans will recall, Gretchen reportedly told Katie Ginella, 41, off-camera that she’d been drugged and hospitalized amid her “naked wasted” encounter with Tamra Judge, 58, during season four. However, after confirming she’d said she was hospitalized, Gretchen backpeddled, claiming she misspoke while overwhelmed.
There was a lot of drama surrounding Gretchen and what really went down, and the latter episodes of the season focused on her social media posts, which she suggested had been doctored. But it wasn’t enough to keep her on the show.
Although the source didn’t reveal any additional details about the other lies Gretchen had told, Bravo cut ties with her ahead of season 20.
“Much like Alexis Bellino the year before, Bravo got what they wanted out of her – they used her, and tossed her aside,” the insider alleged.
Following the news of her exit from RHOC, Gretchen, who previously appeared in a full-time role from season four through season eight, posted a telling message on her Instagram Story.
“The secret to having it all is knowing you already do,” her message read.
Following the exits of Gretchen and Katie, who confirmed her own departure on Instagram earlier this month, season 20 is expected to include Tamra, Vicki Gunvalson, 63, Shannon Beador, 61, Heather Dubrow, 57, Emily Simpson, 50, Gina Kirschenheiter, and Jennifer Pedranti, 48.
The Real Housewives of Orange County season 20 is expected to go into production sometime early this year.
