People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Vice President Candidate and Delta Governor, Sen. (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowasaid God will determine the next President of Nigeria and not the action of the G-5 governor, led by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.
Mr. Okowa stated this in Aboh when he led the Delta State PDP campaign train to Ndokwa East and Ndokwa West Local Government Areas of the state.
However, he is confident that the five governors will put the past behind them and strive for PDP victory in the 2023 general elections.
“God has said that we PDP will win this election. A lot is happening now and people may be asking about the G-5 governorship?
“These governors are our brothers; everyone is important. But what God says will happen, nothing can change it. So even if some people decide to support APC, some will stay with us because there will be division among them.
“The truth is that I have a strong political eye and I have observed that whatever we do, PDP will win the coming election, by the grace of God.
“Only the power of God can help us win. So, no matter the G-5 says it will work with APC or any other party, we will win.
“We all know that the APC candidate is not good enough to be our president. We also know that the Labor Party is not going anywhere and we need to talk to the supporters of the party so that they don’t waste their votes.”

“The supporters who want to vote for the Labor Party are only indirectly helping the APC and trying to dilute the PDP vote. So please go and ask the Labor Party supporters to come back to the PDP and join us to change Nigeria for the better.
“We PDP are ready to change the so-called previous change. Therefore, everyone should find their own PVC,” he said.
Mr. Okowa enjoined the people to embark on a door-to-door, market-to-market campaign to convince the people to support the rescue mission of the PDP.

He said the PDP presidential ticket will unite Nigeria, bring an economic boom, where the economy will be driven by the private sector, and restructuring that will make money available to the state and local governments to start projects.

“APC has finished Nigeria. They promised change in 2015 but have destroyed our beloved country with insecurity, hunger and poverty.
“To address the challenge of insecurity, we will amend the Constitution to allow the State Police.
“President Atiku-Okowa will restructure Nigeria by allowing the country to have more funds and more responsibility for more Nigerians.

“We will amend the Constitution to give more power and resources to state and local governments and we will encourage an economy led by the private sector.
“Our economy was good before 2015, but APC came and ruined it again.
“Nigerians are more poor and hungry because the economy is not good and when the economy is not working, there will be no jobs, because it is a good economy that brings industry.
“We have gone around many states in the country and I can assure you that Nigerians have decided to dump APC,” he said.
On the governorship election in Delta State, Mr. Okowa said that the PDP candidate, Sheriff Oborevwori and his running mate, Senin Onyeme, have the capacity to build the foundation on which the administration is working, hence the need to vote.
He advised voters in the state to be careful when deciding which candidate and political party to vote for, saying those involved in mace rustling will not rule the state. He was referring to the APC governorship candidate, Ovie Omo-Agege, who was accused of escaping with a mace when Nigerian senators were fighting. Mr. Omo-Agege is currently the vice president of the Nigerian senate.
Speaking at the event, the PDP governorship candidate, Mr. Oborevwori, said he would complete the construction of Beneku Bridge and Phase 3 and 4 of Ashaka road if Mr. Okowa’s administration failed.
He described his running mate, Mr. Onyeme, as a reliable, competent and articulate professional who would bring years of experience to the administration.
Mr. Oborevwori took a swipe at the APC deputy governorship candidate, Friday Osanebi, who served under him as deputy speaker, as an unproductive and unresourceful legislator who contributed nothing to lawmaking in his 12 years in the House of Assembly.
“My dear people of Ndokwa East, your son Jum’at Osanebi who is the APC deputy governorship candidate is a failed legislator.
“The capacity of legislators is known during debates in the House of Representatives and for almost two years he worked with me as Deputy Speaker, he never contributed to debates and movements in the House of Representatives.
“You can check the records of the House for the last 11 and a half years, Osanebi has not presented any bill, no motion and no contribution to the debate, all he has done is press the phone while sitting,” he said.
The PDP State Chairman, Kingsley Esiso, who presented the flag to the candidates said the party has dealt with all the challenges facing the nation.
“I am very happy because the day APC is numbered and PDP will come on a rescue mission to reset Nigeria
“All over Delta state, our people are happy with the Atiku-Okowa ticket because since it made Nigeria no Deltan has come close to Aso Rock.
“But by the special grace of God and with your support, our beloved governor will become the next Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,”
The Director General of the State Campaign Council, Funkekeme Solomon, thanked the people for their assurance and urged them to translate their support into massive votes for the PDP on election day.
Some leaders and stakeholders of Ndokwa nation, including Godwill Obielum, George Ugboma, Mike Onah, who spoke at the event, said the people of Ndokwa nation have decided to give PDP one hundred percent vote from the presidency to the House of Representatives.
In Ndokwa East, hundreds of former APC members, led by Henry Omem and Okwechie Ambrose, defected to the PDP. He said he was originally a member of the PDP but was duped by false promises to join the APC.
