GIS promises transformation through the power of digitization
The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), has signaled to harness the power of digitization to ensure efficient and effective use of resources to deliver services this year.
Delivering a speech at the end of the year Thanksgiving Service at the GIS headquarters in Accra, the Comptroller General, Mr. Kwame Asuah-Takyi, indicated that GIS has a program planned to deliver quality services to the people between 2023 -2028.
According to him, the planned program includes safety and security, and how to use the benefits of migration for the socio-economic development of the country.
However, he pointed out that the plan would not have been implemented if the GIS did not digitize the system to ensure efficient and effective use of resources in the execution of the plan.
“…Fellow officials, the outlook for the coming year will see the Immigration Service put some strategies in place as we implement the Strategic Plan 2023-2028 to ensure Public Safety and Security, Service Delivery and also use the benefits of migration for social. – economic development of the country.

“This will be linked to the digitization of our work system to ensure efficiency and effective use of resources,” he said.
Boss GIS said other guiding principles that will ensure the delivery of quality services to the community will be discipline, positive attitude to work, patriotism and love for the country. “This is a definite ingredient for the country’s progress,” said Mr. Asuah-Takyi.
On discipline, Mr. Asuah-Takyi noted that it takes discipline and dedication to duty and a sense of purpose to serve Mother Ghana and service personnel must strive to be disciplined.
He advised the members of the Service to stop attitudes that hinder the collective good of the GIS and encouraged them to give their support to the management to improve the Service.
The Special Guest of Honour, Mrs. Adelaide Anno-Kumi, Director General, Ministry of Home Affairs thanked God for all he has done for GIS and prayed that 2023 would be a better year. He urged the personnel to do their best to raise the image of the Service in the coming year.
Regardless of all the speeches, the program would not have been a success without the melodious songs of Migrant Band GIS.
The group entertained the officers, management and civilians present at the GIS premises with a harmonious Christmas choir and other songs to express their appreciation to the Almighty God for bringing the Service.
Popular twi Christmas song: “Afe Ako aprow” for the tree “The year has become a complete cycle, It has come to meet us again,” and many other songs are sung to thank God and entertain the audience.
The GIS boss, the Director General of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the GIS management and the junior officers could not help but get on the dance floor to relieve the stress they were under.
However, they did not forget to make a moment of silence for the 32 personnel who went with God during the year and prayed that God would remain in their lap.
