Gallants coach Malesela not angry despite loss to Sekhukhune

After a disappointing loss in the DStv Premiership Limpopo derby against Sekhukhune United, Marumo Gallants coach Dan Malesela says he cannot blame his players.

However, he felt that he should have started pressuring his opponent from the first round.

The Gallants lost 3-2 to Sekhukhune at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday, with Babina Noko striker Victor Letsoalo scoring a brace, while Chibuike Ohizu scored the other goal.

Meanwhile, Bahlabani Ba Ntwa got goals from Celipilo Ngema, who returned to the starting line-up after missing the previous game due to suspension, and Sibusiso Sibeko.

Malesela appeared to be angry with the officiating, indicating that he did not feel that the game was decided by the players.

“I’m not someone who gets angry easily, I don’t get emotional often, especially when it comes to matches and results,” Malesela said.

“But really, if we continue like this in football, our football will not go anywhere. We are trying to build players; we are trying to build a strong club. We are working hard in training and if the game is not decided by the players, so we have a big problem.

“I can’t blame anything, the only thing I will blame is the pressure they put in the second half. They should have done the same in the first half. Yes, they put pressure on the opponent, but it should have been the same in the second half. It shows that we wish we could do things. We just have to see and see what happens in the next game, hopefully things will be different.

The Gallants find themselves in 14th place in the standings after the loss, having only managed to collect 13 points from 14 league matches.
