Ex-WH Press Secretary Challenged For Defending Biden’s Performance

Jean-Pierre, who is promoting a new book on the Biden White House after leaving the Democratic Party in June, recalled trying to lift up the former president’s policies and “legislative wins” before Miller chimed in.

“Sure, but he didn’t talk about them that well, though. He couldn’t talk about them. He wasn’t campaigning that vigorously,” said Miller, an ex-Republican National Committee spokesperson.

Jean-Pierre responded, “No, no, no. Wait, first of all, first of all, he did talk about them. Whether it broke through or not, he did, Tim. He did.”

Miller — who, moments earlier, questioned the “absurd” suggestion that Biden had the “vigor” to continue to fight against Trump and remain in office another four years — swiftly hit back.

“I mean, he talked way less to the press than Donald Trump does, way less. And he wasn’t out there at all, he wasn’t good off the cuff, he wasn’t doing press conferences. Let’s just be real. Like he didn’t do night events,” he said.

“But Tim, that’s not true,” Jean-Pierre replied. “Tim, you’re conflating all of it.”

“I’m not,” Miller responded.

“No, first you’re telling me he didn’t talk well about it, then you’re telling me he didn’t talk at all,” Jean-Pierre said.

“He didn’t do either. He didn’t talk very often and when he did, it wasn’t very good. He sounded very old and feeble,” Miller argued.

The interview was streamed hours after “CBS Mornings” host Gayle King told Jean-Pierre it was “hard to understand” her claims in the book that she didn’t see Biden’s reported health decline on a flight to his disastrous debate with Trump.

Jean-Pierre — in her interview with Miller — claimed that Biden spoke to Americans “a couple of times a week” and traveled to talk directly to them, as well, during an “incredibly partisan” time in the country’s political history.
