Amy Schumer is making sure she’s got her divorce under control.
As you know, the comedian is sadly splitting from her husband Chris Fischer after fans speculated for months that something was going on. Apparently that speculation is just what Amy wanted, too! She doesn’t want the gossip stirring too much, according to a source for RadarOnline. And she’s going to some lengths to make sure things don’t get too out of her hands!
The insider told the outlet on Thursday:
“Amy is obsessed with controlling the narrative, really with controlling everything. She seems convinced that if she and Chris can have this perfect divorce, it all won’t hurt so much. That’s why she wanted to get everything totally handled before making the news public.”
She thinks if they can have the “perfect” divorce, then it won’t hurt?

The insider went on to explain that she’s determined to do most of the work behind the scenes to avoid public drama:
“All the houses are getting sold, the money is divided up, and they’ve agreed on custody. There won’t be any fights or drama, which is very important to Amy, for her son’s sake and for Chris. She’s very focused on protecting them both.”
Not to mention, the Trainwreck star has a VERY public life — and she doesn’t want her career to be in jeopardy:
“No doubt Amy’s image is a part of this, too. She knows she’s going to be picked apart and she wants to give people as little ammunition as possible.”
As we previously mentioned, Amy seems to be using Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin‘s infamous “conscious uncoupling” strategy — which this insider says is true. They’re trying to get through this with as little mess as possible.
