‘Perpetrators should rot in prison’
In a statement on Thursday evening, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Limpopo said the perpetrators lured the victim to a bush near Sehlakwane village in Elias Motsoaledi, on December 31, where he was raped and strangled to death.
“The lifeless body of Fighter Thobile was found dumped on Thursday morning in Sehlakwane village not far from the local sports ground where he was kidnapped, [allegedly] by a 40-year-old while attending a New Year’s Eve party,” the party said.

“We condemn in the strongest way the manifestation of violence and femicide based on gender, which continues to anger our province. Women face the quadruple challenge of inequality, unemployment, poverty, exacerbated by GBVF, wars organized by their own partners or people who are supposed to protect them.
“The police have once again failed to find Thobile alive, although we are asking for maximum resources to be used to help trace Thobile’s whereabouts. The EFF calls on the state to impose the harshest punishment on the perpetrators who robbed Thobile of his life. The shameless perpetrators must rot in jail.
“The EFF sends its sympathies and condolences to the family, friends, relatives and fellow fighters of Thobile.”
