Prince Harry’s ‘Spare’ is the top seller on Amazon and Barnes & Noble

Early orders for Prince Harry’s memoir are the same as Michelle Obama’s industry bestseller, according to Barnes & Noble.

From Friday evening, spare is the best-selling book on the largest US bookstore website, the company said. The title, published by Penguin Random House, also has the top position on Amazon.com in the UK and US. Waterstones, the UK’s biggest bookstore chain, says it will be one of the best sellers of the year.

“Hands down, this is going to be one of the biggest books of the year,” said Shannon DeVito, Barnes & Noble’s head of books.

The memoir will be available in stores on January 10.

Michelle Obama become sold more than 17 million copies worldwide, and was translated into 50 languages, according to publisher Penguin Random House. That success made Obama the third highest-paid author of 2019, according to Forbes.

Lots of details on it spare has been revealed, but not slowing down sales, according to DeVito. However, some UK bookshops are trying to lure customers by offering discounts for early orders.

The memoir, according to reports, is a buzz because it reveals the deep rift between Prince Harry and his older brother Prince William. The book also reports on Harry’s drug use and sex life in his youth.
