However, it is not clear why he resigned after serving in the Ministry of Commerce since 2017, and it is believed that he took the decision in order to properly focus on his presidential ambitions.

As the New Patriotic Party (NPP) prepares to elect its flag bearer ahead of the 2024 general elections, men are gradually being separated from boys.

So far, five stalwarts of the NPP have announced their intention to lead the party.

Some of the names who will be the NPP flag bearers when the term of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo ends include Vice President Dr. Bawumia and Minister of Trade and Industry Alan Kyerematen.

Others include the Minister of Agriculture Dr. Afriyie Akoto, former Energy Minister Boakye Kyerematen Agyarko, and former Railway Development Minister Joe Ghartey.

The party’s presidential hopeful, John Alan Kyeremanten earlier said it was time to lead the party to victory in the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
