Andy Cohen is defending the action after Ryan Seacrest it is suggested that he snubbed him among those who broadcast New Year’s Eve, which is a competition for viewership.
Recently, Ryan seemed to overshadow Andy’s coverage in 2022, suggesting his alcohol consumption caused Andy to make negative comments about Ryan on air. During the program, the Watch What Happens Live The host insinuated that the music player Ryan was ‘lost’ and the viewers did not watch anything.
“Ryan, I don’t know, he’s been big on me two weeks in a row,” Andy said during the episode Andhika Radio SiriusXM revealed on Wednesday, via Us Weekly. “I don’t even know what. … I don’t see it [my co-host] Anderson [Cooper] turn and wave. That’s usually what Anderson would do, and I’ll have to call him back and ask him about it, frankly. But I thought he was going to yell at me. Usually, if he waves at Ryan, he’ll say to me, ‘Hey, there’s Ryan.’ You know what I don’t want?”
Both programs were held in Times Square, and Andy noted that he would normally greet Ryan.
“Then I’ll turn around and slow down or I’ll say, ‘There’s Ryan,’ but [Anderson] don’t do that,” Andy continued. “Should I call him and yell at him about it?”
A Bravo exec then called a broadcast reporter, asking about the incident.
“You probably don’t even know this because you’re dealing with, like, the House vote and all that,” Cohen first wrote.
But when Andy tried to question Ryan’s statement, Anderson interrupted asking if Andy would “get me involved with Seacrest.”
“This is between you and me. This is you and I because he said in the event that he was very polite turned around and waved to him and mouthed to him to have a good event and I did not turn around,” Andy continued. Anderson then points out that Ryan said “Happy New Year” to him.
Although in the past, Anderson usually told Andy to wave to Ryan, he didn’t do it this year because Anderson believed his co-host had already greeted him.
“I just happened to turn, like, there were a few times I looked to see if he was there and I didn’t to see him. Then there was one time I just turned and he was there, you know, doing every hour, like a countdown,” said Anderson. “I saw him and we both waved and I said, you know, ‘Have a great new year’ or ‘Have a great event.’ … [Andy,] you say [and] they are involved in several producers [thing] and I just don’t [tell you to say hi]. I mean, everything happened so fast, it didn’t matter. I mean, every year we say hello to him. So I assume you’ve been there and I’m just following along.”
The reporter added, “I’m sorry if [was a] failure on my part, but yeah, I hope it doesn’t contribute or anything. I think I saw you, you know, waving or something.
Andy claims he “would” greet Ryan if he saw him. “I’m trying to get Duran Duran’s attention,” said Andy, as if to explain why he was before moving in that direction.
