Dante Alinsunurin admits that his Choco Mucho Flying Titans are “excited” to make it back to the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Finals.

But first thing’s first.

“We haven’t quite gotten there yet,” Alinsunurin said as his charges would still need to seal win No. 3 in the semifinals, which could come against determined Petro Gazz on Sunday at Smart Araneta Coliseum. “Perhaps, it’s a matter of being excited, but we really need to address any issues we’ve encountered.

MANILA, Philippines — Petro Gazz expressed its frustration over the crucial calls in a loss to Creamline in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference semifinals on Thursday at Philsports Arena.

The Angels lamented the “officiating lapses” in their 27-25, 23-25, 27-25, 26-24 defeat at the hands of the defending champion Cool Smashers.

“Much of the reaction by netizens on social media was due to what some perceive as controversial calls or non-calls at the end of 3rd Set, with the most significant moment being the spike of Alyssa Valdez over the block of Aiza Maizo-Pontillas and MJ Phillips,” the team said in a statement on Friday. Tubino, once again, backstopped reigning MVP Sisi Rondina, firing 17 points in Choco Mucho’s dominant 25-20, 25-19, 25-23 win over Chery Tiggo for a 2-0 record in the semis to inch a win closer to the team’s second straight trip to the PVL Finals.

“I’m happy because the coaching staff and my teammates are always there to support and guide me,” said Tubino in Filipino on Thursday evening after another triumphant game in front of 5,921 fans at Philsports Arena. FULL STORY
