The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Wednesday in Abuja approved the appointment and redeployment of new Heads of Branches, Air Officers Command (AOC), Tri-Service Commanders and NAF Institutions.
It also approved the appointment of a new spokesperson and other senior officials.
Joel Abioye of the Directorate of Public Relations and Information, NAF, said that the new postings and redeployments are part of routines aimed at ensuring operational efficiency and effective service delivery.
Mr. Abioye, the group captain, added that the appointment was approved by the Chief of Air Staff, Oladayo Amao, the air marshal.
The former Chief of Policy and Plans, Jackson Yusuf, an air vice marshal, was appointed as the Chief of Defense Policy and Plans (CDPP), while the Commandant, Armed Forces Settlement Centre, Lagos, Idi Lubo, an air vice marshal, took over. as Head of Policy and Planning.
Mohammed Yakubu, air deputy marshal and immediate past commander, Air Force Institute of Technology is now Head of Aircraft Engineering, while Ayoola Jolasinmi, air deputy marshal and former CDPP, Defense Headquarters (DHQ), is now Head of Defense Space Administration. .
“The Commander, Armed Forces Command and Staff, Jaji, AVM Anthony Tuwase, is now the Chief of Defense Transformation and Innovation (CDTI), DHQ.
“In the same vein, AVM Paul Masiyer is now Head of Logistics, HQ NAF; AVM Ibikunle Daramola, Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Ground Training Command, Enugu has been appointed Head of Communication Information Systems.

“AVM Samuel Chinda is currently the Chief of Air Intelligence, NAF, while AVM Anthony Ndace is currently the Air Secretary, NAF.
“Also affected by the new appointment is AVM Emmanuel Wonah, the former Chief of Aircraft Engineering who is now the Commander of the Command and Staff of the Armed Forces, Jaji.
“AVM Charles Ohwo, former CDTI has now been appointed Commandant, Armed Forces Settlement Centre, Lagos, AVM Paul Jemitola, former Air Secretary is now Commandant, Air Force Institute of Technology, Kaduna.
“AVM Abraham Adole is the new Commandant, Air Force War College, Makurdi,” Mr. Abioye said.

Other new appointments are Sayo Olatunde, air vice marshal, former Air Force Commandant War College now AOC, Land Training Command, Enugu and Ebimobo Ebiowe, air vice marshal, now AOC Mobility Command, Yenagoa.
Mr. Abioye added that the former Director of Public Relations and Information, Edward Gabkwet, an air commodore, was appointed as the Commander of 551 NAF Station, Jos, while Air Commodore Wapkerem Maigida, an air commodore, is now the new NAF spokesperson.
He said Olayinka Oyesola, an air commodore, took over as the Air Component Commander (Joint Task Force North East) of “Operation Hadin Kai”.

“Air Marshal Amao charged the officers to bring their professional experience and continue to explore new ways to provide workable solutions and new strategies to address security challenges in the country.
“The newly appointed and commissioned senior officers are expected to assume office on or before Friday, January 6,” Mr. Abioye added.
