Fear not – Pastor Mensa Otabil tells Ghanaians at a cross service
“Don’t be afraid and don’t let your heart faint.” This is the assurance of Reverend Mensa Otabil in his New Year message to celebrate 2023.
Quoting from Deuteronomy 20:3, Pastor Otabil, who is the General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church, assured individuals, families, organizations and nations that God will go first, fight for them and give them peace.

“For every day of 2023, God will go ahead of you and make a way for you. There is something you cannot do in 2022, you will do it in 2023”, he said.
He spoke to thousands of worshipers at the annual Crossover night service at GATHERING, which is the church’s theme for the New Year.
“There are testimonies waiting for you next year. Some of you will graduate in 2023, some will get married, some will have children and some will do what was previously called impossible next year,” he said.
Pastor Otabil also has words of reassurance for those who have experienced significant setbacks due to COVID-19 and what has happened in recent years.
Quoting from John 6:12, he assured those who have lost loved ones, are suffering from financial or health problems that God can use them to pick up the small pieces that are left in their lives.

“If you ever think that your life is wasted, if you feel abandoned and abandoned, believe that God can use the broken pieces to make your life whole again” he said.
Pastor Otabil also advised the church to use the Gathering Year to focus more on the people, especially the vulnerable. He showed that in the coming year, God will gather those who are abandoned, lost or broken and give them new life.
“Many people who have gone astray, lost their way and wasted their lives will be given another chance by God.
He warned individuals, organizations and countries not to be extravagant in the new year gathering. “One of the worst things you can do in life is to be blessed and waste it. There is nothing to lose and nothing to waste”, Pastor Otabil concluded.
The annual Crossover Service was held at the church’s new campus at Christ Temple East in Teshie. It saw several thousand worshipers converging from all over the city with many others joining in on television, radio and online.
