LG showcases new 2023 OLED TVs

LG Electronics (LG) has unveiled its 2023 TV line-up at the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

LG says that realizing a more immersive viewing experience, the technology has enabled the company to create TV form factors “unprecedented before”, including market firsts such as the rollable LG SIGNATURE OLED R, and the bendable LG OLED Flex.

Good picture

Leading the LG 2023 OLED line-up are the latest evo Z3, G3 and C3 OLED TV series.

This new improved model provides higher brightness and color accuracy, as well as excellent clarity and detail thanks to the precision and performance of LG OLED evo technology and the new α9 AI Gen6 Processor.

LG says its latest Alpha series processors use state-of-the-art AI-assisted Deep Learning technology to ensure exceptional picture and sound quality.

“AI Picture Pro now offers improved upscaling for better clarity, and enhanced dynamic tone mapping, which helps reveal depth and detail in every frame. AI Picture Pro also incorporates image processing technology that detects and filters important objects, such as faces people, to deliver more lifelike HDR quality.

LG’s evo 2023 G3 OLED model also has an aesthetic upgrade through the introduction of seamless One Wall Design without any visible gaps when mounted on the wall.

User experience

LG OLED also introduced a newer and more personalized user experience in 2023.

Featuring the latest version of webOS, this year’s model features All New Home, a redesigned user interface (UI) that offers more personalization options and is easier than ever.

The new “Quick Card” offers users easy access to the content and services they use the most – all grouped into logical categories such as Home Office, Games, Music and Sports,” the company said.

Adding to the personalized user experience on LG OLED TVs is AI Concierge, which provides each user with a list of content options selected based on past usage and search queries and offers a selection of trending content to browse.

HDMI compliance

LG says that the 2023 OLED model supports various HDMI 2.1 compatible features.

They are also the first TV sets to be certified by the HDMI organization for the recently announced Quick Media Switching VRR (QMS-VRR). QMS-VRR can eliminate the momentary ‘black screen’ that sometimes occurs when switching between content played from different source devices connected via the TV’s HDMI 2.1a compatible port.

Smooth

LG’s self-lit OLED TV has a 0.1 millisecond response time, low input lag, up to four HDMI2.1-compatible ports.

They also come with Game Optimizer, allowing users to quickly select and switch between game-specific features, such as game genre display presets. Settings for G-SYNC Compatible, FreeSync Premium and variable refresh rate (VRR) are also easily accessible from Game Optimizer.
