Prince Harry sees “no willingness to reconcile” in the royal rift where leaks portray him and his wife Meghan as villains, according to interview extracts released on Monday.
Harry, 38, said he wanted to get back his father, King Charles III, and his brother William, the heir to the British throne, according to extracts from a television interview to be aired on Sunday, the day before the prince’s memoirs are published.
Harry and Meghan, 41, highlighted their experiences in the British royal family in a Netflix documentary last month about the reasons for their surprise 2020 departure to North America.

“There’s no need for that, leaking and planting,” Harry said, sharing the story of the royal fissure.
“I want family not to be an institution,” he said.
“If they feel as though it is better to keep us somehow as villains they have shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile,” he said, without specifying who “they” were.
“I want to ask my father back. I want my brother back,” Harry said.
Before the publication of the memoirs on January 10, the prince gave an interview to the British network ITV and another to the United States CBS, which will be broadcast on Sunday.
The criticism came at the coronation of King Charles on May 6 following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, on September 8 last year at the age of 96.
The Netflix documentary broadcast in six episodes in December gave the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the official title, the opportunity to give reasons for going to California.
The move made him unpopular in England, where he was often portrayed by the media as a selfish and spoiled brat.
The documentary contained no surprising revelations, but the couple settled scores with the media, which they accused of inciting and causing the miscarriage.
‘Front’
The couple accused the royal family of lying and not knowing how to protect them.
Harry also said it was “scary to have my sister yell at me” during the 2020 family summit in the presence of Queen Elizabeth II.
The Sussexes also accused William and his wife Kate of being behind the negative media coverage because they allegedly wanted to stay in the limelight.
According to Sunday Times newspaper, Harry’s book takes more aim at William than Charles.
“Everything has been exposed,” according to a source familiar with the memoir.
“Charles came out of it better than I expected, but it was difficult for William, especially, and even Kate got a bit of a broadside,” the source said.
“There are minute details of this, and details of a fight between brothers. I personally cannot see how Harry and William will be able to reconcile after this,” the source told the Sunday Times.
