Two Fil-foreigners with impressive credentials will try to gatecrash the third of the homegrown talents led by the defending champion Kristoffer Arevalo as the National Stroke Play Championship fires on Saturday at the Langer Riviera course in Silang, Cavite.

Enrique Dimayuga, a 21-year-old Filipino-English standout from the University of Arkansas in the US NCAA, and Jaden Dumdumaya, are among the players to watch in the 95-player male field.

Dimauga only spent the holidays here with his family, but changed his schedule to make a last-minute entry for the 72-hole event.

Dumdumaya, meanwhile, made a bid for the nation’s biggest championship after enrolling at the University of Southern California.

Mafy Singson will shoot for the women’s title back-to-back, with the experienced Lois Kaye Go, a former champion, looming as the main threat.
