Prince Harry says he would like his father and brother ‘back’

Britain’s Prince Harry said his relationship with the royal family “has never been the same” and that he wants to get his father, King Charles, and his sister “back,” in excerpts of an interview with British broadcaster ITV released on Monday.

“It doesn’t have to be like that,” he says in the clip. “They have shown no willingness to reconcile,” he said. “I want my father back, I want my brother back.”

Harry and his wife Meghan, officially known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, stepped down from their royal duties in March 2020, saying they wanted to make a new life in the United States away from media distractions.

They currently live in California, where Harry sits with ITV News in Ten reporter Tom Bradby for an interview.

Since moving to the US, the couple have criticized how they are treated as members of the royal family, including Harry’s allegations that William’s younger brother, the Prince of Wales, screamed during a meeting to discuss their future.

ITV said the interview would be broadcast on January 8, two days before the publication of Harry’s memoir spare.
