
MP Bunkpurugu donated a mono table to the District Directorate of Education
Member of DPRD Bunkpurugu Dapil Northeast Region, Bandim Abed-Nego Azumah, has donated 168 mono desks to the district education department in his constituency.
The donation comes on the back of an appeal made by the district director to MPs asking for help.
The MP in a short presentation ceremony promised to invest more in the education sector, asking district directors to ensure that the desks are used for their intended purpose.
“When I got the chance to be a member of parliament, I said that education will be a priority, because here in the district, we must try to respond. Our candidates in BECE still use double desks for exams and I think this is not the best. Meanwhile I donated the first batch of 168 mono tables to the regent, many are still on the way,” Mr. Azumah assured.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) lawmaker said he was happy to collaborate with the District Chief Executive, adding that the move would help improve education in the area.
He called for more collaboration between districts and stakeholders, explaining that they are in a better position to serve their constituents if there is better collaboration.
“It’s all about collaboration, we can’t do everything alone, we need each other to serve the people. I want to say that I’m very happy with the collaboration I got from DCE and I want to support it. Let’s preserve it for the welfare of our people,” he requested. MP.
On his part, Bunkpurugu District Director of Education, Yakubu Musah, thanked the MP for his support, saying it would go a long way in improving education.
“On behalf of the parents and students, I want to thank and am very happy for the support we received from MP today. This will help us a lot. I want to say that there are 35 JHS in the district, and we still want to ask them to give more so that it can be distributed to all,” requested the DCE.
The DCE said politics is not about fighting the enemy, but a movement that seeks to benefit the people it serves.
He is confident that he will continue to support members of parliament for the welfare of the people.
“I am very happy about what is happening now, in fact, we have always been in touch when the appeal came. I want to say that politics is not for war but for the development of your nation. So I want to assure you that I am always ready to support the MP in whatever development he brings to the people us,” said Mr. Musah.
In a related development, MP again donated Jerseys and footballs for the city team and encouraged to do the same to produce stars for the national team.
“I am here to support the city’s football team. When I received a letter asking for support for the team, I was very happy because I remember when I was a child, how I followed my brother to Nakpanduri to play football. It was very different and reviving. Games in the district will be a good thing. I want to urge the team to do well so that from Bimoba land here we produce stars for the national team,” said the MP.
Residents thanked the MPs for their donations and promised to ensure good competition
Bunkpurugu district is one of the most deprived districts in the country and students in the district have to struggle a lot to study. There are some schools in the district without furniture and students lie on their stomachs to study.
