Pastor Mensa Otabil, General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church, (ICGC), has announced “Gather” as the theme of the Church in 2023.
“In 2023, we want to get together. God wants us to get together, bring things together.
“We must collect the increase, nothing will be lost and nothing will be wasted,” he said.
Pastor Otabil said this at the Crossover Church event observed at ICGC Christ Temple East, Teshie, Accra.
The theme is taken from John the Sixth verse 12 of the story of Jesus praying to his disciples to collect the fish and bread that were left after they added miracles to feed his followers.
“After they were all satisfied, Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Gather the rest. Let nothing be thrown away.’” John 6:12, ESV.
Pastor Otabil said the theme means that God will gather his own children, and ensure that none of them are lost.
He emphasized that he also encouraged them not to lose sight and contact with God, but to remain obedient to God forever.
The theme, he added, also calls for reaching out to the lost and bringing them to redemption through Jesus Christ.
Crossover is an annual event organized by the ICGC Church every December 31 at night until the beginning of January 01 of each year.
These events are used to share Bible themes and directions for the coming year.
This year’s crossover was held at the Church’s new campus, Christ Temple East in Teshie.
The event saw pilgrims dressed in white as a sign of victory in the new year.
