Andy Cohen backtracking on his promise to “party harder” when he hosts CNN in 2022 New Eve Live broadcast.
Andy caused a backlash last year when he and fellow host, Anderson Coopergot a little drunk during his hosting duties which made Andy a badass competitor. Ryan Seacrest‘s, show Dick Clark’s New Rockin’ Eve as “a bunch of losers” and told the Mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio“Sayonara Sigh!”
CNN later apologized for Andy’s shenanigans and said they would cut back on drinking this year, leading Andy to clap again and double down on his annual boozy ritual.
“Anderson and I are going to party harder than we’ve ever party on New Year’s Eve!” Andy quipped during the November episode of the show Watch What Happens Live
He jokingly admitted The stone is rolling earlier this week for those who are only “visitors” when they are working on CNN, and can “torch the place” and then return to Bravo the next day.
“My job is to take Anderson out of his comfort zone [and] it’s my job to be the leader of the party for everyone watching us on New Year’s Eve, and that’s what I’m going to do,” Andy told the great music magazine.
He then explained that he and Anderson were allowed to drink because CNN only required “correspondents” not to drink,
“What [ CNN Chairman Chris Licht] He said he didn’t want the correspondents there drinking, but he wanted Anderson and I to do our thing,” Andy said. to The Hollywood Reporter.
However, a few days later Andy confirmed to Page Six that he and Anderson will not be attending any boozy parties while on air.
“We don’t drink,” he told the outlet on Dec. 29. “But we’re going to have a BLAST.”
A decision we’re sure Ryan is very happy with. At American Idol The host recently told Entertainment Tonight that he does not believe in drinking on the job and praised CNN’s decision to cut back on booze.
“I don’t advocate drinking while on air,” he told the outlet. “I don’t know how it started as a tradition, but it was probably a good idea [to scale back]CNN.”
