Pope emeritus Benedict XVI, who stepped down as head of the Catholic Church in 2013, has died. He is 95 years old.
Benedict, who was pope between 2005 and 2013, has been ‘very ill’ in recent times.

Former Pope Benedict XVI has died at the age of 95, the Vatican announced on Saturday.
Benedict was pope from April 2005 until his surprise resignation in February 2013.
On Wednesday, Pope Francis said Benedict was “very sick” and asked members of the Catholic Church to pray for him.
