The body of a young man believed to have jumped to his death was found at the Bloukrans Bridge in the Tsitsikamma area of the Western Cape on Thursday.
George Herald emergency services reports were sent to the bridge on the N2 highway in Storms River, Friday afternoon, said Southern Cape police spokesman Sergeant Chris Spies.

Spies said the 19-year-old girl left George in the Hyundai, came to the bridge and got out of her vehicle, before jumping out.
“His body was found and a search and rescue operation was activated,” he explained.
“The team resumed recovery operations to retrieve the victim’s body at noon on Friday, December 30.
“Plettenberg Bay Police have opened an inquest docket for further investigation.”
Second body in two months
Last month, a biker died on the same bridge.
Matthys Cornelis Bothma, 47, from Gauteng, died by suicide “between 6 and 7 November”, Knysna Spot Herald reported last month.
Authorities arrived at the scene after being alerted to a motorcycle parked in bushes near the Bloukrans Bridge.
A search was then launched for Bothma’s body, which was picked up by air after a three-hour mission.
“This is one of the most difficult recovery that the members have done. As part of the task, they risked their own lives by abseiling from such a precarious height. It is clear that the members are skilled and trained in the field of search and rescue.
“The service of the SA Air Force is greatly appreciated and we thank them for their assistance. The efforts of the entire team were outstanding,” said District Commissioner Sarah Baartman Brigadier John Lebok.
