Dorries and BoJo have weakened.
In many ways, last week’s political winner became the Prime Minister. This is for the simple reason that the person who could have undermined Boris Johnson’s position is now ineffective.
As is well known, Johnson has never hidden his desire to return to Number 10 and there is always a risk that he could stage a coup against Sunak.
Following the publication of the Partygate report, it is difficult to see this happening. BoJo is broke and is no longer an MP. The base is definitely smaller than recommended.
There is no other obvious replacement leader although I think they could emerge.
