Trump harassed and belittled anchor Kailyn Collins calling her a “wicked woman” when she pressed him on the issue of classified documents found at Mara-a- Lago. Most of Trump’s comments show racism, dishonesty, an autocratic view of the presidency, widespread incompetence, character flaws, and criminality. Cringeworthy performances by Trump include:
- Recycle, lie about rigged 2020 election. A very weak ego is shown showing that he cannot maintain his self-esteem in defeat.
- Champion of the rebels. He said he had been wronged and promised to forgive him if he became president.
- Reducing violence in the Capitol says “some people have lost control.”
- Falsely blames Speaker Nancy Pelosi for violence at Capitol. The Speaker of the House has no control over the operation of the Capitol Police.
- Repeated defamation of E. Jean Carroll just days after being held responsible for defamation and sexual assault of Ms. Carroll
- Refused to apologize to VP Mike Pence and repeated that Pence “did something wrong” by refusing to certify the election results.
- Direct answers to questions about supporting Ukraine in the Russian invasion or whether they would support a federal abortion ban.
- Capitol police called Byrd a “thug” for firing the shot that killed Ashli Babbett.
- Family-separating immigration policies are coming back
- Admitted to stealing classified documents. He said, “I took the documents. I agree.”
- He lied about what he said on the phone to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensberger. He said, “I didn’t ask him to find anything.” On the phone, he specifically asked Raffensberger to “find me 11,780 votes.”
The media constantly claims that not “all” Trump supporters are violent, religious extremists, racists, crazy, or cultists. However, 87% percent is a high enough majority to see the Republican party as a threat to American values, democracy, and equal individual freedom for all Americans. The GOP base and corrupt or mute Republican members of Congress are participating in the extremist movement away from democracy and toward autocracy. Trump loves global dictators and car rats and despises the leaders of democratic allies around the world. So Trump’s supporters need to be honest and stop defending themselves as patriots by hiding their statements about their unpleasant personality because they want a policy. His policies are racist, violent, anti-Constitutional, cruel, and dangerous to national security. Trump’s MAGA supporters need to be honest and admit that they share Trump’s values and views and stop whining about being criticized. Stop pretending we all just love Trump and admit to choosing a white-only, Christian-only, male-dominated, cherry-licked version of the Bible.
CNN participated in this toxic town hall by not rallying mixed voters and choosing anchors who were strong and committed to journalism over performance politics. The station received criticism for producing what it said would be a platform for lies and dangerous anti-democratic rhetoric by Trump.
