The mystery has subsided since the day. So is the king’s power. But the pageantry, in the era of fast world communication, was even more observed, and it was on full display in London as King Charles III was crowned.
Coronation processions and centuries-old ceremonies at Westminster Abbey are the centerpiece of a three-day holiday weekend in England that also includes a street party, an outdoor lunch and a concert on Sunday in the grounds of Windsor Castle. Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Take That are among those to perform.
