
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has predicted scattered showers and thunderstorms in the eastern part of the country on Thursday.
The weather service is also expecting showers and thunderstorms along the south and southeast coasts.
Thursday’s weather forecast
Gauteng: Partly cloudy and warm with afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Expected UVB sunburn index: Extreme.

east: Hot in the Lowveld, used to be partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated afternoon rain and thundershows but scattered in the southeast.
Limpopo: Partly cloudy and warm with afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the east.
Northwest: Partly cloudy and warm.
Free State: Partly cloudy and cool to warm with showers and thunderstorms in the extreme east.
Northern Cape: Fine and cold becoming warm with coastal and near interior fog in the morning, becoming partly cloudy in the extreme east in the evening. Winds along the coast will be southerly.

Western Cape: Fine and cool to warm but partly cloudy on the south coast. Winds along the coast will be moderate to fresh from the south but moderate from the southwest on the south coast. Desired UVB sunburn index: very high.
Western Half of the Eastern Cape: Partly cloudy and cool but cloudy in places in the south. Winds along the coast will be moderate to fresh from the west to southwest.
Eastern Half of the Eastern Cape: Cloudy with rain and thunderstorms in the northeast in the morning, or partly cloudy and cool but cloudy in the south of the escarpment. Winds along the coast will be moderate to fresh from the west to southwest.

KwaZulu-Natal: Morning fog over the interior, used to be cloudy and cool to warm with isolated rain and thundershows but scattered in the north. Winds along the coast will be moderate from the south-west, becoming south-east to north in the evening. Desired UVB sunburn index: very high.
