Airtel Africa is set to launch a reality TV show, The Voice Africa. The program, which starts tomorrow, received 78,804 registrations from Nigeria, Kenya, Seychelles, Chad, Uganda, Congo, Zambia, Tanzania, Rwanda, Gabon, Madagascar, Malawi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

While 12,308 talents were selected for the audition stage, a total of 100 (seven per country), in addition to the two wild cards, were selected to continue with the live show in Lagos, Nigeria. Organized in partnership with FAME Studios Africa, the event will be broadcast on free-to-air TV stations in the market.

The Voice Africa will follow a global show format, starting with blind auditions, battle rounds, knockouts, playoffs and ending with a live show. The show will run for 25 weeks, airing one show per week, with the first show opening blind auditions based solely on the talent’s voice and not being seen.
