LOS ANGELES – LA Lakers forward LeBron James said there is no timetable for his return from the leg injury he suffered last month and denied earlier reports on Thursday that he expected to take the court again on April 5.
The Lakers are currently fighting for playoff survival and, with nine games remaining, sit in 10th place in the Western Conference.
“No evaluation today and no target date for return yet,” James tweeted.
“I only work for an hour, every day (3X a day) to give myself the best chance to come back fully at any time. God bless you all sources. I speak for myself!”
An ESPN report citing sources said the future Hall of Famer will return for the Lakers’ final three games of the season vs. the Clippers, Suns and Jazz.
The Lakers have gone 7-5 since James suffered the injury in a come-from-behind win over the Dallas Mavericks on Feb. 26.
