A former permanent secretary in Ogun State, Adefemi Egbeoluwa, and his wife, Oluwafunmilayo, have been murdered in their home on Allen Avenue in Ikeja, Lagos State.
In the incident that happened on Saturday, the alleged killer also attacked the domestic worker of the couple, leaving her for dead. A source said on Wednesday that house help is still being admitted at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
“A day after the governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state, it is alarming that his parents, Adeyemi Egbeoluwa, 72, and his mother, Oluwafunmilayo, were found murdered in their house on Bamishile road, Allen, Ikeja’, sources said.
“He reported the case to the police and when he got there, he found his father and mother dead with signs of violence on their bodies. What they gathered was that the elderly couple was found in a pool of blood and the housekeeper who took care of them was found unconscious with bruises on face and body,” the source added.
“The maid was taken to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, where she is undergoing treatment. We learned that the police found a machete, a wooden board, one nose mask, a touch lamp, and one ID card in the victim’s house.
A source who confirmed the sad incident, the police, when they arrived at the scene, saw the bodies of the couple and the domestic worker who were injured and unconscious on the ground.
A friend of the family, identified as Adegbenro Adebanjo, was quoted in a post on Facebook as saying that the police suspect a case of murder as a domestic worker was found with critical injuries.
“On Saturday, March 18, 2023, Adefemi Egbeoluwa, a former permanent secretary in the Ogun State government, and his wife were found dead in their apartment in Ikeja, Lagos. The domestic help was found critically injured, leading the police to conclude that the couple was killed by unknown assailants,” he said. write.

Until this news, the bodies of the two people have been kept in the morgue for autopsy, while it is said that the Homicide Section, Panti, Yaba, is investigating the case.
The police spokesman in Lagos, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident, saying investigations into the incident were ongoing.
