Nnaji said, “You should know the kind of person Nnamani is. The failure made him feel bad. Unfortunately, he did not know that he failed before the election. I thought he would make a reference to me, because I was the one who started the process that led to his expulsion. He has failed before anything. He entered the election without any platform, because the party did not have a candidate for the Enugu East senatorial election.

On the allegation that Ugwuanyi contributed to his failure, Nnaji said: “He should thank Ugwuanyi for bringing him back after a long time. Second chance was given to him and he did not use it well. He should stop the attack, because he it will destroy him if there is any credibility left in him.
