In the blink of an eye, the 16-year-old has gone from childhood to the “it” couple of the early 2000s Tom Cruise and Kate Holmes for high school seniors have applied for college!
Sadly, as the years passed, Suri became increasingly distant from her famous father – so much so, that she will not have any part in the decision of her higher education!

According to a source close to Dawson Creek alum who spoke with DailyMail.com there, Suri “has sent out several applications” and “leans into” studying fashion in New York City, where she now lives with her momma. The youngster reportedly has an AF wardrobe worth around $5 million (!!!) — so it’s not hard to see how obsessed she is with clothes!
While Katie is understandably “overwhelmed” by the idea of being an empty nester, she’s super supportive of the process. An insider once said:
“Suri applied to schools everywhere. [Katie] really wanted him to stay in New York to be close. Katie is very proud of him but also very overprotective.
They can not speak for Mission Impossible star, who “has no part” in his daughter’s life after losing contact with Suri a year after the couple divorced in 2012 reportedly over Katie’s concerns about raising her daughter as a Scientologist. At Oscar the champion still maintains a relationship with the adopted child, Isabella30, and Connor28, which shows with Nicole Kidman. In addition, all three cut in Big Little Lies alum died after she divorced Tom in 2001 and left the religion. It’s so sad.

When Tom “had no part [Suri’s] life” and will not affect his college decision, he will help finance his experience. Sources noted in Top gun lead will pay for Suri’s college fees, as decided in the ex’s divorce agreement. According to the divorce documents, the 60-year-old actor agreed to pay the actress $400,000 per month until Suri turns 18. He also agreed to pay all of his daughter’s expenses, such as “medical, dental, insurance, education, tuition and other extracurricular expenses.” This has never been a problem for the action star, an insider told the outlet:
“Tom has always maintained his responsibility when it comes to his financial obligations to Katie and Suri.”
We thought money was better than nothing, but damn. Is the result difficult for teenagers. Fortunately, it seems like Suri has handled the lack of a father figure in her life as best she can. Another insider said Katie is not letting Tom’s decision not to visit the child affect their upbringing, explaining:
“Being raised by a single mother in New York has made Suri who she is. Katie has always put Suri first and Suri loves her mother more than anything.
He added:
“She’s a smart girl, and she’s a smart grown woman. She has very loyal friends, and she knows where she’s coming from.
In addition to her love of fashion, Suri is also a talented musician and may have studied music at school. He appeared on the soundtrack of his mother’s film Once Together and will be the soundtrack for the upcoming film Rare Objects. Convenient! Fun runs in the family!
