Teddy Mellencamp made a joke about it Lisa Vanderpump pay Rachel Lewis to sleep with Tom Sandoval in the midst of a nine-year relationship with Ariana Madix at Melissa Gorga‘s In Display podcast and has faced a storm of backlash for doing so.
After suggesting that he was an ex The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills castmate financed the relationship in an effort to increase the viewership Vanderpump Ruleswhich Vanderpump quickly denied, Teddi claims her word has been “twisted” and called out double standards involving Vanderpump.
“Obviously, I made a joke, and I got fired for making a joke, which wasn’t reported properly, because everyone just walked out, I said ‘probably’ and laughed,” Teddi told Entertainment Tonight in March. 16.
“I love the Bravo fans, I think they’re really happy Two Ts very successful, but it feels like my words will continue to be twisted, and that’s when people will come to you and say, ‘I wish you didn’t live, I wish you died!'” he continued.
Although Teddi says that people prefer to come to her page and share their opinions, even if they are not positive, she does not understand the more “brutal” comments.
“If you say that my mother is a dumb woman who got me pregnant because I am an abomination on this earth? I don’t know if you really have the legs to stand on there. I really don’t take your response,” she said, adding that the death threats were pointless.
“I just don’t know why it’s so dark,” he shared.
Teddi clarified that in “Scandoval,” she doesn’t think Vanderpump paid Raquel.
“If we really investigate, anyone on a reality show is paid to cause drama,” he said. “I’m not [really] saying she was paid to fake an affair, but that’s what anyone on a reality show does.
As Pump Rules fans have also seen, Vanderpump told the payment theory in a tweet shortly after the episode of Melissa’s podcast aired.
“I don’t pay cast members to sleep with me for ratings [Pump Rules] they do it themselves… [Fake news],” he wrote.
After confirming that he was “happy” to see it Pump Rules well, Teddi further stated that she “made a joke” and pointed to the double standard involving Vanderpump, explaining that Vanderpump’s joke was recently made on Watch What Happens Live does not seem to offend anyone in the way he Scandoval jokes.
“This vigilante justice thing, I don’t agree with it at all… except that, you know, [Kyle Richards] or Add Chest” said Vanderpump.
“People can laugh at jokes that are clearly told, like, they open up to other people to come to other people who are in the same network,” said Teddi.
Then, in response to those who accused him of being “thirsty,” Teddi said, “That’s supposed to be the fun part. If you don’t listen to everything, are you mad? And if you do listen, do your research.
“Breathe before making comments that might hurt others,” he added. “Agree with me, or disagree with me. Think I’m funny, or think I’m annoying. Have an opinion, but you don’t need to go to that level.
