Frazer Clarke will face former WBA interim heavyweight title challenger Bogdan Dinu this Saturday at Manchester’s AO Arena, live. Sky Sports.
The announcement came after Clarke’s initial opponent, Rydell Booker, was forced to withdraw due to illness following a serious medical incident.
The American heavyweight was not healthy last weekend. Booker had been attending a boxing event in his hometown of Detroit, just days before he was due to travel to England, where he had a serious medical emergency. He is now on the mend.

Clarke said that 2023 is the year to go ahead and challenge for the title and has not ruled out a fight against Joseph Parker in the future.
Unbeaten Team GB Olympic hero Clarke, 5-0 (4), who won a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, will now look to add another scalp to his growing resume when he faces his new rival, 6ft 5in Romanian Dinu .
In his 16th pro fight, Daniel Dubois defeated Dinu, 20-4 (16), for the vacant WBA interim heavyweight title in June 2021.
“Unfortunately, Rydell Booker has to withdraw from the fight. He has a medical issue and we wish him the best, I hope he recovers quickly. Some big names,” Clarke said. Sky Sports News.
“It’s a good fight for me and I’m looking forward to it.”

Last year, Dinu fell in a challenge for the vacant WBA Inter-Continental heavyweight title when he fought Kevin Lerena, who had recently dismissed Dubois before retiring.
Dinu also fought former world champion challenger Kubrat Pulev in 2019.
“This is heavy boxing. It’s dangerous. Especially this guy on short notice,” said Clarke. “It’s up to me to be a professional, which I am, to go in and do my job. I’m looking forward to it.
“It doesn’t matter who joins me at the weekend, I feel confident, I’m fit and strong. I’m ready to do the job.”
Outside the ring, Dinu, 36, has served as an Agent of the Special Action and Independent Intervention Service (SIIAS), a Romanian police task force created in 1995 as part of the Counter-Organized crime squad.
These roles include capturing dangerous or armed criminals, handling hostage crises, disaster relief, police protection, witness protection and others involved in criminal investigations.

Whether Dinu will be able to handle the power of “Big Fraze” in Manchester remains to be seen. Standing at an average 6ft 6in, Clarke has won his last two consecutive matches at the AO Arena and will be looking to complete his hat-trick on his return this Saturday.
After the last change of opponents, Clarke said: “This is professional boxing. Don’t bank on anything. I’m used to it now and from all my amateur career, I’m used to fighting people in the news of the day. So my job is to go out and win.
“It has been up-and-down the beginning of his career with the change of opponents. It has happened three or four times now from five fights. So it is not good,” he continued. “Some of these guys are strong, tough, and resilient enemies.”
But he added: “I’m confident we can go out and beat these guys.
“I’m a winner and that’s my job every time. If I do how I know I can, then what will happen and it will be a statement.”
