More than five bids will be made for Manchester United before Wednesday evening’s deadline for a second bid – and there could be as many as eight.
The Glazer family will certainly sell the club but only for the right price. If his asking price – believed to be £6bn – is not reached, he will raise capital to invest in the club and pay off debt.
Based on the level of first-round bids, there are no favorites at this time although one could emerge after Wednesday’s deadline.
It should not be underestimated that the Glazers will take control of United by agreeing to a minority deal, with the team’s performance on the rise and a new strategy now in place.
Selling United will not be an easy decision for him as the club is rarely available for purchase and will not come on the market for at least another 20 years.

Sky Sports’ chief journalist, Kaveh Solhekol, told sources from the United States that Sheikh Jassim and his team worked hard over the weekend to make a second bid which will be made on Wednesday.
The visit of a delegation of Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe last Thursday and Friday grabbed the headlines but several other interested parties have visited the club in the past two weeks – and more bidders are expected to arrive next week.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe says he will not pay a “stupid” price for Manchester United.
The INEOS chief executive and his team spent six hours at Old Trafford and Carrington last week with the meeting ending at about 4pm.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, a 70-year-old man said: “How do you determine the price of a painting? How do you determine the price of a house? It has nothing to do with the cost of building or how much it costs to paint.
“What you don’t want to do is pay stupid prices for things because you’ll regret it.”

Sir Jim Ratcliffe arrived at Old Trafford on Saturday as talks continue over a potential Manchester United takeover
However, Ratcliffe, who already owns French club Nice, said his interest in United would be “purely to win”, calling the club a “community asset”.
Ratcliffe, 70, was photographed outside Old Trafford after meeting club executives – unlike Sheikh Jassim, who did not visit Manchester the day before.
But sources in the US said the last talks in Manchester between the Qatari delegation Sheikh Jassim and United executives were positive.
His counsel is currently working on a new offer to be submitted on Wednesday.
It was previously understood that the Qatari bidders had decided not to pay the chance for the club, but that attitude has softened in recent days which coincided with the delegation’s visit to Old Trafford.
The Qatari delegation traveled to Manchester from London by train and received a warm welcome. Talks went on for 10 hours – longer than expected.
Sheikh Jassim and members of his team have visited Old Trafford as fans before, and the focus of this visit is to gain perspective on what can be done in terms of capital investment in infrastructure, youth development and the women’s team.
