Former President John Dramani Mahama has postponed filing his nomination form to contest the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential General Election.
Mr. Mahama is scheduled to file his nomination on Monday, March 20, 2023, so that he can contest the party’s primaries on May 13, 2023.
However, party executives have asked the party’s two-time losing presidential candidate to delay his submission for fear of taking Asiedu Nketiah’s True State of the Nation speech to be delivered later today.
The former President’s campaign team, therefore, rescheduled the submission of nomination forms until Tuesday, March 21 at 1 p.m.
“Originally planned for Monday, the John Mahama Campaign said it was very sorry for the delay, in response to a request from the party to reschedule it due to the presentation of the State of the Nation Address on Monday,” the statement said. issued by Spokesperson Joyce Bawa Mogtari on Sunday, March 19 said.
Meanwhile, the former President is currently in the Ashanti Region on a campaign tour.
He is expected to end his tour on Monday in time for the filing of nominations on Tuesday, March 21.
