
Police have launched a manhunt to arrest the suspect behind the shooting in Gqeberha that left three people dead and others injured.
The shooting happened in Arcadia around 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
Eastern Cape police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu said police officers responded to the scene and found the bodies of the two men in the yard. The rest of the body was inside the tent.
Shots were fired after the funeral
Naidu said the shooting took place soon after a funeral was held at the house.
After most of the people had gone to the cemetery, a few remained to help tear down the tents. At this point two men approached and started shooting.
“Police are investigating three charges of murder and one of attempted murder. The identities of the two deceased are not known, while the third deceased needs to be verified,” Naidu said.
Naidu said the victims were between 22 and 25 years old.

No firearms were found at the scene.

Three were arrested after German tourists were robbed
Meanwhile, three suspects were arrested after a German couple were robbed while sleeping in a guest house in Addo, Eastern Cape.
“Four suspects armed with unknown objects forced their way into the room and threatened the couple. A 67-year-old man sustained an open wound on the head when he tried to close the door. The suspects stole foreign currency, cash, passports and other personal items,” he said. Naidu.
Most stolen items can be returned.
The 27-year-old suspect was arrested while trying to exchange foreign currency taken from a tourist. Two other suspects, aged 29 and 31, were arrested a short time later.
