The governorship candidate of the Labor Party in Lagos State, Welcome to Rhodes-Vivourhas vowed to challenge Saturday’s election results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a series of tweets On Friday, Mr. Rhodes-Vivour said he was convinced that he won the election.
“In this regard, I strongly believe that the results released by INEC do not reflect the will of the peaceful majority of Lagosians,” he tweeted.
“In addition to the results of field agents and room conditions show that we won this election.
“I am the people’s champion, we are far from finished. Don’t lose hope, don’t waver,” he wrote.
“This is not over yet, we have not come far enough to accept lies, criminality and lies. The fight for freedom is not easy to win.”
Although the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who is up for re-election has not been officially declared the winner of the poll, He has secured the most number of votes in 18 of the 20 local government areas in the country.
The incumbent governor polled the highest number of votes in Ikeja, Apapa, Badagry, Lagos Island, Epe, Agege, Ibeju-lekki, Kosofe, Surulere and Somolu.

Others, where governors won, are Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Ifako-Ijaiye, Lagos Mainland, Alimosho, Ojo, Ikorodu, Mushin and Oshodi-Isolo.
Olajide Adediran of the PDP, the third leading candidate in the election, has yet to win the local government and came a distant third in total votes.
The LP candidate who won Amuwo-Odofin LGA said the abuse of power by the ruling party and election officials was a “slap in the face of democracy” and Lagosians who decided to participate in the election.
Rhodes-Vivour said she was saddened by reports of violence and the exclusion of voters who came out to do their civic duty.
Results from one local government area – Eti-Osa – are still awaited at the time of filing this report.
PREMIUM TIMES reports that the election in Victoria Garden City in Eti-Osa has been postponed until today (Sunday) by INEC due to disagreement between residents and INEC officials.
