Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has reportedly warned employees not to give in to intimidation and threats over former President Donald Trump’s Truth Social speech that called for protests if he was arrested on Tuesday.
Bragg, in an email to employees obtained by Politico and NBC News, referred to “press caution and public comment” about the investigation by the office and reminded employees that safety is a top priority.
The DA’s message comes as his office investigates cash payments to Stormy Daniels during Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
Bragg did not refer to the former president by name in the email.

“We do not tolerate attempts to intimidate our office or threaten the rule of law in New York,” Bragg wrote. “Our law enforcement partners will ensure that specific or credible threats to our offices are fully investigated and that appropriate safeguards are in place so that all 1,600 of us have a safe working environment.”
Bragg added that he is committed to maintaining a safe work environment for his employees.
“In the meantime, as with all investigations, we will continue to apply the law evenly and fairly, and speak publicly only when appropriate,” he wrote.
The Manhattan district attorney’s office did not immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment.
The email reportedly arrived after the former president, speaking to his supporters, called for “PROTEST. [to] TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY” in the DA’s office reference post.
The crackdown follows reports that law enforcement in New York is preparing for possible indictments.
Several Republicans have since spoken out in support of Trump, including former vice president Mike Pence, who told reporters the idea of impeaching the former president “really upsets” him.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) also called Bragg a “radical DA” and claimed he “allowed violent criminals to run wild while seeking political revenge” against the former president.
