Decades of marriage and the inheritance of children and grandchildren do not mean that people respect each other.
Many divorces are bitter. And sometimes, continuing to work together and live close together after a breakup just keeps the wounds from healing.
Little People, Big World Fans have watched Matt Roloff troll his ex-husband more than once.
Now, his followers are accusing him of protecting Amy. This time, when paying tribute to Caryn.

Caryn Chandler just turned 56 years old.
In honor of her, Matt Roloff took to Instagram to post the most unflattering photo of her (probably by accident) and, more importantly, praised her in the caption.
“Happy Birthday to the sweetest, kindest, most beautiful soul I’ve ever met,” Matt said.

“Happy Birthday,” she wrote, tagging Caryn Chandler with her Instagram handle in the process.
“And many, many more,” concluded Matt.
It must be a sweet message to his partner. But does the superlative element of the post suggest that he is throwing shade at others?

Some commenters asked the same question: hey, what about Amy?
Matt and Amy have been married for almost three decades. He has a very beautiful child. They spent so much of their lives as a couple.
Of course, they got divorced in 2015 and both are very happy. But does Matt’s praise seem like he’s throwing his wife under the bus? (And, one might argue, literally everyone you’ve ever known or loved?)

If Caryn is the “kindest” and the “sweetest” and the “most beautiful soul” you’ve ever met, what makes Amy?
At best, in second place.
No one expected him to put him on a higher pedestal than he is now. But to hear Matt use this particular description of Caryn really rubbed some fans the wrong way.

But not everyone, as a series of followers made clear.
Many people were quick to sing Caryn’s praises.
One commenter noted that Caryn “supports all” of her various projects and seems to be “a lot of fun” to be around. That they were meant to be in contrast to Amy, it seems.

Meanwhile, another commenter noted that Amy doesn’t like Matt. He loved her. He was her husband for almost 30 years.
However, as people have pointed out, she is also “busy” raising her children.
And sometimes, over time, what started out as a fun quirk — like Matt’s tendency to create projects and dive in first — can wear thin. Always be upset that something like this can be sad, but it’s not an indictment of someone’s character. Amy had to deal with it; fans don’t.
