Bode George, others declare ‘O to ge’ in Lagos, canvass support for Rhodes-Vivour | The Guardian Nigeria News

A group of prominent citizens of Lagos State under the leadership of Omo Eko Pataki, on Thursday endorsed the candidacy of the Governorship candidate of the Labor Party, Gbadebo Rhodes- Vivour, as the candidate to vote in Friday’s Governorship election.

Members of the group include Chief Bode George, General Tajudeen Olanrewaju (rtd), Dr. Aderemi Akintoye, Senator Kofoworola Bucknor-Akerele, Chief Olabode Oladeinde, Dr. Layi Ogunbambi and others.

Moving the motion for the adoption of Rhodes-Vivour, Dr.Ogunbambi said by supporting the Labor Party candidate, the indigenes of the State will realize the dream of a better Lagos, which they have longed for. Her adoption movement was supported by Dr. Akintoye.

Speaking on the reasons for adopting Rhodes- Vivour, George said: “This is the best hour to remember the memory of our beloved son, Late Engr. Funsho Williams. We should not give our donations in vain. On this premise, Omo Eko group Pataki, a new political social movement, was born to ensure that our electoral process in Lagos will be free, fair and just. We insist on using the electronic transfer of results instead of the unreliable, ancient, manual system. O to ge (enough).

“Our beloved country will be under a new freedom, which will bring a government of the people, by the people and for the people. That government will never disappear from our country.

According to George, what the group is doing is to eliminate the selfish government. He, therefore, urged voters to come out en masse and vote and not give room for intimidation.

“We seek freedom for all; freedom for the disenfranchised, freedom for the poor and freedom for the rich. We need to make sure that we eliminate selfish governments in our Country.
All registered voters should come out to vote without fear. In this regard, I am calling on all security agencies to ensure the protection of lives and property of our people.

George charged police authorities to arrest robbers and violent thugs. “The opportunity to liberate ourselves by the power of the Almighty God has come,” he said

Chief George, who is the leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) called on voters to elect Rhodes – Vivour for the position of governor, and to vote for the PDP candidate for the House of Assembly.

However, he assured all the victims of the recent attacks in the country and all those who have lost their property and sources of livelihood during the election period, to be sure that the issue will be re-examined in a new era with a legitimately elected democratic government.

George, who described the election as the last battle in Berlin, called on all civil servants and pensioners to join the new cause.

In response to the group’s support, Rhodes- Vivour said she was very proud of the group. “I thank Lagosians and the leaders of this group for speaking truth to power. We once had a Lagos where there were provisions for social amenities, and every parent was proud to send their children and wards to public schools, and I will emulate that when I am governor.

The Labor Party aspirant who was formerly in PDP said he chose to build a lane, so that he could realize his dream of becoming the governor of Lagos State, adding that if he believed in the lane he built, his dream of becoming the governor of the state would come true.

Rhodes -Vivour also praised the PDP leadership in the country for being in opposition all the time, saying it is not easy for the opposition party in Lagos for a long time.
