Arsenal Women 4 – 0 Reading Women

Arsenal produced a clinical attacking display to edge past Reading in Sunday’s Women’s Super League clash, with strikes from Kim Little, Frida Maanum and Leah Williamson – as well as an unfortunate own goal from Emma Mukandi.

Little kicked off the score from the penalty spot (4), stroking the ball emphatically beyond Grace Moloney after Katie McCabe was tripped, before Maanum’s tap-in gave the Gunners a two-goal buffer before the break (44).

Mukandi turned the ball over his own net shortly after the interval (47), while Williamson was on target in Arsenal colors for the first time in over a year, pouncing on the back stick to put a gloss on a dominant display (69).

Jonas Eidevall’s side were under pressure to overcome a brief slump in WSL results that saw them crash to fourth place in the standings, but the result was never in doubt, with two goals in each half setting up a comfortable victory.

Arsenal back in action on March 21, take on Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, before they met Tottenham in league action four days later. read will host the league leader Chelsea on March 19.
