MANILA, Philippines – Lyceum and Perpetual Help won the NCAA Season 98 women’s volleyball tournament at the San Andres Complex on Sunday.

The Lady Pirates defeated the Lady Red Lions, 25-20, 25-16, 28-26, behind Janeth Tulang.

Tulang scored 14 to power the Lady Pirates to their fifth win in seven games. Joan Doguna added 13 for Lyceum.

Marianne Louise Tayag was the lone double-digit scorer for San Beda (1-6) with 10.

Meanwhile, the Lady Altas needed four tough sets to defeat Letran, 25-23, 25-21, 30-32, 25-19.

Shaila Omipon led all scorers with 24 points, while Mary Rhose Dapol scored 20 to power Perpetual Help with a 6-1 card.

Judiel Nitura’s 16-goal outburst was not enough to give the Lady Knights the win while Lea Rizel Tapang also scored 12 as Letran dropped to a 4-3 record.

In boys action, the Altas handled the Knights, 25-17, 25-16, 25-19, to remain unbeaten after seven games.

JC Enarciso shined with an impressive 22 sets and two markers for the untouchable Altas.

Letran, in the past, dropped to 3-4 on the ladder.

Meanwhile, the Red Lions also defeated the Pirates, 25-13, 25-21, 25-12, behind the floor management of Jerome Lopez.

Lopez only finished with a point but scored 17 great sets to give San Beda a 4-3 lead.

Lyceum, on the other hand, remain winless after seven matches.
